One shows a humbleness and is able to realize the fact one does make mistakes. It's also much better to learn from ones mistakes, than outright denying a mistake being made.

Well, that depends on whether they've started trying to right their faults. Someone can realize their faults and then flaunt them or dwell on them, and that only makes the person harder to be around.

I think people become more likeable when people accept their faults.

If they were a likeable person to begin with, then they become more likeable.

Um, no. Then they are just a self aware irritation. And some people, who weren't so irritating before, get all depressed and whiney over the fact that they know their faults.

^if they're passive (don't do anything about them) and whiny about them, then yes.

I know I became much more likable when I became aware of my faults. I have a sense of humor about my human failings and I'm no longer an annoying perfectionista. Now, I have the unfortunate pleasure of living with a roommate who is completely unaware of her faults and believes the world should bow down to her will.

I suppose they can but not necessarily. Only if the new outlook changed them and made them try to work on their faults.

Maybe their faults are only faults in your eyes. Do you mean for them to change in order to suit you better?

Sometimes. but people can be annoying when they admit their faults also if they constantly talk about them/complain/point them out. Sometimes it is arrogance that causes them to point out their faults so people will see them as better.

This question reminded me of King of Queens. It annoys me how she's always complaining about him...

If I already like someone, their honesty about their own shortcomings would make me like them more. If I already disliked them, I'd probably continue to dislike them. I'd have more respect for them for being open about their faults, but I *still* wouldn't like them, per se.
