I don't necessarily distinguish between those two things. I can raise money for orphans in East Africa, but that doesn't mean I'm trying to distract the public of the needs of orphans everywhere. BLM focus on the plight of the black community as they are largely members of the black community and have an interest in seeing it improved.

I agree with what you are saying in regards to the key points that are leading to the problem, however most people declaring "all lives matter", or "blue lives matter" are doing so aggressively, as if to counter their claims rather than support/direct them.

Without Trump's years of lies about elections being rigged against him, there's no way this would have happened. It's less about one speech and more about a campaign of repeated, systemic lying. He has proven very well the adage that if a leader lies loudly enough and repeats the lies enough times, that people will believe.

I see it as a fairly natural progression from the 'RESIST' brand of politics that has taken over the opposition parties.

Trying to find 'faithless electors' didn't work to keep Trump out of office in 2016, so the resistance side saw that failure and stepped it up a bit after this election. It's the same mentality that caused the Dems to storm the Wisconsin state capitol in an attempt to stop the vote on Act 10. If a party cannot win at the ballot box, they now resort to more extreme tactics in an attempt to get their way.

You tried that comparison before. Nobody bought it then.

Frankly I’m shocked if you actually believe it, CD. This country has never seen anything like what happened in January 6. Nothing.

That's exactly what I thought when I was watching them storm the Wisconsin state capitol...

This country had not seen anything like the reaction of the Dems to Trumps election in 2016. Why is it so surprising that 2020 took it to the next level?

11 months ago - Tuesday 6/1/21 - 4:49:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
2020 didn’t do it. Months of lies by low life politicians and the lowlife president pushed a bunch of very angry and more of your very fine people to try to overturn the election of a new president.

That's the way the political climate has been shifting. In 2016 the Dems were trying to get faithless electors to overturn the election of a new president...

RESIST!!

Others took a more direct approach.

From the website linked above:
"We don’t ask permission or put our faith in electoral politics, instead, we use our bodies to stop the smooth operation of the system we oppose."

Come to think of it, had the nation seen anything like the multi-day, multi city rioting that took place in response to the 2016 presidential election?

You can’t compare protests in cities to storming the US Capital building and threatening the lives of the governing body while a president sat silent. Quit making sh*t up.

Can I compare the storming of the US capitol building with the storming of the Wisconsin state capitol building?
11 months ago - Tuesday 6/1/21 - 5:51:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
As I was saying, each step escalates the level of madness from the previous step. One side tries to disrupt the inauguration, 4 years later, the other side tries to disrupt the electoral college vote.

I wonder what will happen 4 years from now should the Dems lose the election...

Why can't I? Had the nation ever seen multi-day, multi city rioting in response to a presidential election before 2016?

That is the yardstick you were using as a measure, right?

Right- - the trend is after election, those supporting the opposition party escalates the madness to the next level...
11 months ago - Tuesday 6/1/21 - 9:47:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think the madness is one sided these days. Or at least heavily lopsided

I'm thinking there's a few levels between trying to talk electors into voting their conscience and storming the Capitol.

Kind of like asking a solicitor to leave instead of shooting at the meter reader who has legal reason to be on your property.

Still no “like” feature on YT, huh?

The difference CD is one organisation was outside of the democratic process, though of course you label them "Dems", which is your Bullsh*t for anyone who is not like me.

"We don’t ask permission or put our faith in electoral politics, instead, we use our bodies to stop the smooth operation of the system we oppose."
So NOT "Dems" by any stretch of the imagination.

On the other hand you have Trump, who was so fully subscribed to the electoral process that he was the incumbent presiding figurehead. It was him who was leading the effort to circumvent the process of the democracy that he himself had pledged to support, defend and serve.

Missed the organized plan to disrupt Trump's Inauguration?

Focus only on the faithless elector comment...

You seem to have a very short memory of how crazy people went over Trump's election.

This were protesters, not the outgoing president and democrat members of congress.
