yes we have them all the time at work, we have interstate people and we are cost cutting so we hold meetings over the phone.

yup, a couple of years ago as a lowley file clerk, I thought 'what could I have done? all I'm in charge of is paper and large metal boxes' but it was a good call, not bad..

I have conference-call meetings at least once a week at work. I prefer face-to-face meetings, though.

had an interview on a conference call once, about 6 people's echos rebounding down the line, me standing in a puddle of sweat, attempting to field the questions. not pretty. needless to say, i didn't get the job.
actually there was one other time...i was in a boardroom full of people who were stuffing up a project and i had to detail that to the techy at the other end of the line. again, not pretty. made lots of enemies that day.

Do you mean the kind of conference calls where you use your special conference call button, dial two numbers, then sit there and don't say antyhing and the other two parties keep going "Hello?" "Hello" "You called me" "No, you called me" so on, and so on. These can get really creative and hysterical and yes at my sorority we did it all the time. So fun.
