Great movie....and scary background music. I felt so bad for the girl skinny dipping at the beginning of the movie!

Fantastic movie and one of the most memorable (yet simple) musical themes of all time. The sequels were mostly disappointing, but this one was a classic. "we need a bigger boat."

Scary no matter how often I see it.

A modern classic. Very exciting, and frightening, and also moving (particularly Quint talking about the USS Indianapolis tragedy).

There is no way this movie is stupid, it's such a classic! It's where all our fears of sharks come from! Jaws, baby, yeah! It's all about the killer great white shark..this movie was too great..

OK, I officially declare that I will never read another post from jessica_146. Not only has she called this immortal classic "stupid", but it's just the latest in a long line of empty, ridiculous commentary from her. LMAO@travbowman.

My all time favorite movie ever! Thanks to this movie I never venture any further than ankle-deep when I visit the ocean!

To this day, I'm scared of going too far out into the water.

Possibly the first scary film I ever saw. It rocks, even if it does cause unnecessary hate towards sharks, your chances of getting attacked are incredibly low.

Great flick. See you can have a great scary movie and still only use minimal special effects.

God, this was the first movie that ever REALLY scared me! I remember I saw it when I was pretty young and afterwards I was so scared of water that I was afraid to take a bath. I became convinced that sharks could somehow swim through plumbing. I watched a "making of" for this movie the other day & Spielberg did some amazing things. The mechanical shark would never work & they couldn't figure out what they were going to do since the shark was in most of the scary scenes. So they came up with the whole barrel idea. That way the audience would know the shark was there & feel scared without actually having to see the shark itself. Brilliant!

This is a definite must see if you feel like seeing fake blood, limbs getting ripped apart, and want to get freaked out about going in the ocean! Believe me!

According to Bravo's 100 Scariest movie moments countdown, the opening scene of Jaws was number one.

I love the backround music. I used to LOVE this movie. I first saw it when I was in the 3rd grade...I loved sharks and this movie's really cool for that.
