With the score 35-0 and 0:10 seconds remaining in the game, the Snohomish Panthers run the Ike Special. |

That's not "absolutely so wonderful". He still plays the game and wears the pads, he can still get tackled. Treating him special just makes the problem worse.
All that did was set him apart from other kids on the team even more.
And "differently abled" is f*cking retarded. |

It took a lot out of it when they do it after every practice. |

not really...children with Down Syndrome learn just like a young child, by repetition.
It is unlikely he would have known what to do or truly be able to accomplish that without the practice.

Differently abled? That's what it's called now? How is he differently abled? I don't think heving more pity thrown his way than mine is an ability.
Doesn't have the same ring to it either, "You are so f*cking differently abled" |

But he loves football and watches it all the time. Obviously I really don't know, but it seems like if he was given the ball and they still let him score in the game, having not done it every single day in practice, he would still know to run with it. |

Seriously, wtf is wrong with you people! Who cares what they name the video, whether or not he's done it in practice or whatever! I play Aussie Rules footy with a similarly challenged little fella and if this guy loves the game as much as my mate, it's probably the best day of his year!
Good on the team for including him in anyway they can and the opposition as well for making the kid's day! |
