I thought the game ended with him trapped in the basement. That's why I thought it was creepy. |

I kinda wish it made some sense. The ending could have easily answered what 'waking up' meant.

It's supposed to be ambiguous, it kinda goes with the whole atmosphere of the game. 
But the name "Coma" might be hint. |
