I'm not convinced that's a real golf ball. According to the links on You Tube, that ball is only travelling at 150 mph, not that much higher then the average drive speed. Golf balls don't deform like that on the golf course. |

that has to be bollocks, other wise they wouldnt travel when hit.
The whole point is the harder you hit them the more energy transfered into motion.
If they were that flexible the whole point would go out of the window. |

Don't forget that the deformation and return to original form happens in a tiny fraction of a second. If it DIDN'T deform like that on impact, it would probably shatter.
The same effect happens with any object that bounces. It just can't be seen with the human eye because it happens too quickly. |

if they were that flexible surely you could squeeze them in a vice, but i thought they shatter rather than deform. |
