Strange and odd things that people are doing cause of beauty.

It's pretty strange what our idea of "beauty" is, too.

i can understand corsets, they push up your boobs and suck in your gut...but the others..idk, maybe i'm just too close minded.

Aren't corsets still considered sexy? At least in a kinky sort of way.

Blackening your teeth with lacquer-like dye used to be considered beautiful in Japan, and is still practiced by (mostly) older women in some Asian countries.

Now plastic surgery is the strange, odd thing people are doing for "beauty"

I don't think anyone thinks that's beauty.

the bound feet in China is jus sad and disturbing. imagine actually having your foot in the shape of your shoe. especially, a shoe that about 3-5 sizes too small. i honestly don't even know how they actually managed to fit into those shoes, let alone walk in them. serious foot disorder there ppl.

I watched a show, once, where they showed that in one culture as part of a coming of age thing they filed down the front teeth - no novocaine, upside down - to make them all even. The sound was excruciating and I couldn't stand to watch for more than a minute. Made me want to gag.
