I am not surprised. The movie was way overrated. I thought the story was sh*t but only because it seemed unoriginal, and now i know why. |

The first time I saw the preview, for a minute I really thought it was some sort of Fern Gully remake. |

I liked the movie but the story was highly unoriginal. It was mostly cool for all of the imagination put into the species/environment design. Fairly entertaining movie.
But I totally thought of Fern Gully too.
Mysocks - my boyfriend and I looked over at each other when he tamed the big dragon and both said EPIC FLYING MOUNT. |

haha that's so cute and like, not just epic. like that super rare 310% phoenix that drops from tempest keep.
I was thinking... "Eywa" = Elune? giant trees populated by blue people? SUSPICIOUS. I'm sure there was more to it than that too but I'm sleep-deprived |

it's not exactly like Disney's created it themselves, right? |

Read about the real story of Pocahontas and you'll realize that Disney basically just created a story and stuck Pocahontas's name onto the character. |

James Cameron said from the start that Avatar was based on several of his favourite stories growing up.
And Disney's version of Pocahontas was hardly original either. |
