we're not really mispronouncing them- - the book is about their origins and talks about how quickly the standard pronunication has changed |

I'd guess the version in the book would have fully pronounced 'ed' on the end like 'aged' - - just a guess |

For long-lived, I was thinking more along the lines of a long i sound. Not saying the -ed.
Long-lived would rhyme with "deprived". Not sound like "livid".

I'm going to continue pronouncing it long-lived, simply because the word "lived" is not pronounced "livid" and the word "long-lived" is a conjunction using that word. |

But this is clearly just a list of how words were once pronounced. Pronunciations change.
