See how many Earths it would take to sustain your lifestyle.

Bah, it takes like 2 minutes of loading for each section I click (home, power usage, transportation)...
Sunday 9/30/07 - 3:23:03 AM
2 earths...which still seems like a lot considering I buy mostly recycled stuff and recycle everything that can be...Although I think the car question screwed me...as I do not have a car and it wouldn't accept 0 as my miles/gallon....
Sunday 9/30/07 - 3:24:06 AM
6.6

i think thats bad lol

Sunday 9/30/07 - 4:06:50 AM
Takes too long to load. And I don't even live in the USA, so I quit halfway
Sunday 9/30/07 - 4:10:58 AM
Fun. I don't even OWN a car, but you can't put that under personal transportation and it put up my earths to about 1.2
Sunday 9/30/07 - 4:19:09 AM
2.9 earths? Well I guess it's a good thing that not everyone lives like me... Although apparently I am trying harder than the average American.
Sunday 9/30/07 - 4:19:36 AM
3.5 and i'm pretty green, WTF, i think something went wrong, I don't live in the US so I had to pick the closest answers.
Sunday 9/30/07 - 5:27:15 AM
3.7 earths for me.

I wasn't sure what my numbers were for electricity consumption and such so it might be higher or lower. My score jumped hugely when I got to the food part though. Oops.

Sunday 9/30/07 - 5:48:04 AM
I was at 1.5 until it asked me how many cups of coffee I drink a week. I put in 18. My earths shot up to 3.5. Something has to be wrong. You're telling me that if everyone drank as much coffee as I do, then cars and electricity consumption wouldn't matter because we'd all still be screwed? Screw this! I think I'll make myself some coffee right now.
Sunday 9/30/07 - 7:22:31 AM
Woah boring or what
Sunday 9/30/07 - 7:45:30 AM
Azul.. the idea is that coffee beans have to be imported, and the energy used to transport coffee beans via air/water/whatever is an awful lot. So yes, if everyone in America did drink 18 cups of coffee per day every day, it could very well have a huge impact on the earth.

At least, I think that's the theory. The whole game's a bit pointless though.. it's all hypothetical and is never really going to happen. Variety is the spice of life, the extremes tend to cancel each other out and we're left with the average. All Americans, no matter what, wouldn't live in exactly the same way as I do, or you do, so the whole exercise seems a bit pointless to me.

Sunday 9/30/07 - 8:27:55 AM
Yea 8.3
Sunday 9/30/07 - 8:48:39 AM
0.8, am I the only person getting that low of a score? O-o
Sunday 9/30/07 - 8:54:18 AM
My average was 2, but I eat for 5. LOL

Based on the average American, it's actually 13. But it's nice to see how much on an individual scale.

This isn't exactly accurate though. Their natural gas/heating oil/electricity averages for NYS are 1/3 of that for Long Island. Even though I have an older house it's far more energy efficient than most.

And also, 0 wasn't an option for most.

Sunday 9/30/07 - 9:09:40 AM

Sunday 9/30/07 - 9:14:43 AM

Sunday 9/30/07 - 10:46:25 AM
thats just the stupidest "game" I've ever seen...clearly we don't all need 3 earths to sustain our lifestyles because the hippies aren't bringing the average down that far...
Sunday 9/30/07 - 10:47:07 AM
also, there's no empirical evidence of global warming
