High school football team does the Haka before every game. They do a pretty good job. This must really get them pumped up. |

This is ridiculous, a complete mockery of everything that the haka is about. The haka was created by Maori tribes in NEw Zealand, and was never meant to be used by arrogant, self-centered American high-school footballers. |

okay. for one thing, it's only a mockery if people percieve it to be a mockery. SECONDLY, A LOT OF THS'S TEAM MEMBERS ARE FROM TONGA! so get over yourself. it is awesome that they use it to bring themselves together as a team. and just because u don't like football, DON'T HATE! Our teams are not ALL self-centered or arrogant. In fact, alot are QUITE HUMBLE, AND CARING! ESPECIALLY THE TONGANS!
AND YES WE AMERICANS DO REALIZE THAT THE HAKA WAS CREATED BY THE MAORI, BUT U NEED TO REALIZE THAT THE HAKA IS NOW WORLDWIDE. NOT ONLY DO THE NZ ALL BLACKS PERFORM IT, BUT MANY HIGH SCHOOLS PERFORM IT. IN FACT, AREN'T ALL NZ HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS REQUIRED TO LEARN IT?
